This gate has continually been drooping and has been height adjusted numerous times<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"451\" height=\"544\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nenevalleyrailway.co.uk\/NVR_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Picture-3-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1407\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.nenevalleyrailway.co.uk\/NVR_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Picture-3-2.jpg 451w, http:\/\/www.nenevalleyrailway.co.uk\/NVR_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Picture-3-2-249x300.jpg 249w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 451px) 100vw, 451px\" \/><figcaption> <strong>The rotten bottom joint of gate B<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p> On a more positive note, progress on the gates is coming on well&nbsp;&nbsp;the fourth frame B has been made and gate D has progressed to having the cross bracing fitted and the five long steel rods installed. With the routering of the chamfers to the timber edges and the metal strengthening plates being fitted will release the gate for decoration.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"339\" height=\"451\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nenevalleyrailway.co.uk\/NVR_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Picture-4-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1408\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.nenevalleyrailway.co.uk\/NVR_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Picture-4-1.jpg 339w, http:\/\/www.nenevalleyrailway.co.uk\/NVR_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Picture-4-1-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 339px) 100vw, 339px\" \/><figcaption> <strong>Gate D with the cross bracing and the steel rods installed.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p> I will report further progress on this most interesting project in due course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NOTE:-<\/strong><br>Maintenance like this is just a small part of the constant ongoing work to maintain and operate a heritage railway.
